The Gully Classes Foundation (GCF) is a non-profit organization founded by Abdul Munaf in 2017. Registered under the Companies Act of 2013, GCF is dedicated to creating a more equitable society by focusing on four key areas: education, women's empowerment, environmental awareness, and skill development.
The foundation works to provide primary education to underprivileged children in Mumbai and Rajasthan, often transforming abandoned spaces into "Gully Classes" and Community Resource Centers. These centers offer free tuition, books, and stationery, and a nurturing environment for children from low-income households.
A core part of their mission is the empowerment of women. GCF provides skill-based training programs, such as courses in Mehndi and basic beautician skills, to help women become financially independent. They have also helped women from marginalized communities set up their own cloud kitchens and get registered on food delivery platforms, enabling them to earn a sustainable income.
In addition to its educational and empowerment programs, the Gully Classes Foundation is committed to environmental stewardship. They regularly organize cleanup drives for beaches, rivers, and gardens with the help of volunteers and students, promoting a sense of responsibility and eco-consciousness within the community.
